The Challenge

Our client is one of the largest supermarket chains in the Netherlands, employs over 100,000 people, including thousands of managers.  

We have been working together for over 20 years on learning solutions (classroom, blended, digital) for the leaders and employees of the organization.  

In 2020, the client adjusted the management structure in the stores. Part of this new structure is the introduction of a new Manager role. After a selection process involving multiple market parties, Moovs was selected by the client based on an inspiring concept to develop the training program for the new Managers. This training program should be designed for both existing and new employees who have recently taken on a leadership role.

Our Solution

The project delivered a comprehensive 12-month blended leadership program, including:  

  • Development of the leadership program concept, design, and didactic structure.
  • Creation of all necessary online and offline learning materials for the existing LMS.
  • Creation of an online check-in tool, that is used during the training program, as self measurement tool.
  • Organization of kickoff and conclusion events.
  • Training internal trainers through a train-the-trainer program.
  • Conducting workshops focused on leadership skills.

The development phase of the project lasted 12 months, starting from an analysis of learning objectives and involving continuous collaboration and feedback from company specialists. The execution phase started at the end of 2020 and is still active.

Result

Based on the training program, we developed in 2023 training programs for store managers and coordinators of the other store organizations of the company. The execution phase of these programs is still active.
